Items of Interest

The Sydney Renewable Power Company - an impact investment company launched in March. Here’s the press release that went out along with the launch tweet.

Sydney Renewable is set to achieve a combination of environmental, social and economic returns and is financing over 500kW of photovoltaic solar array on the redevelopment of the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour.  With its unique and highly visible location in the heart of the City, it is hoped the project will act as a beacon of what local people can achieve when they back what they believe in.

To finance the installation, Sydney Renewable is building a group of 400 investors who are passionate about achieving environmental and social returns and also want to see a financial return. The investment process will take place later this year when an official memorandum will be released.

If you’re interested in keeping up to date with Sydney Renewable Power Company, click here to sign up to the mailing list.  They are also on FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn, and you can visit the website here.
